What Challenges Us is Designed to Change Us

Is your transformational path becoming increasingly difficult? If so, that is actually good news because that means a big breakthrough is right around the corner.

You see, we can only handle so much so fast. It is good to remember that all change happens incrementally. Just when we feel we have reached an easier place on our path, a whole new set of challenges present themselves. No, these are not new arrivals that we have brought upon ourselves. These challenges were already there, we just weren’t ready to deal with them yet.

The important thing for us to acknowledge is that we have progressed to a new place. We have actually advanced along our transformational path, though sometimes it can be difficult to recognize.

I often say the results don’t lie. In looking back upon the progress we have made, to get to this new place with these new challenges, we can reflect on the results that brought us this far. Take stock in what you have accomplished on your journey rather than beating yourself up for the mess that you may be presently dealing with.

And always remember to take these new challenges on one step at a time. Just like the stairway to ascension that I mentioned in a previous article, there is no elevator to the top or no fast track past the challenges we are presently facing.

Take a deep breath… take several if the first one doesn’t seem to help. Then take a moment to quiet your mind. This is likely a good time to do a meditation, or some journaling or to TransCover®. This will help you release some of the negative feelings that are not serving you in working through this place that you are presently stuck in.

If we are blaming, shaming or judging others (or even ourselves), we are no longer progressing. We have stopped our flow and are not in the present moment.

By taking time to realign, re-center and come back to the present moment, we will find ourselves more ready to face whatever seems so monumental at that given moment.

It is far easier to step out of our comfort zone before we get pushed out.  What that means is that we can stay ahead of the energy that can stop us in our tracks. Awareness is key, so if you find yourself in a challenging situation, remember these tips to help you stay present so you can progress more quickly. You can choose to grow through the situation rather than just going through the situation.

It might sound unrealistic when we are stuck, but life really can be simpler and easier when we get out of our own way.  Some people deal with the pain of a situation by choosing to go unconscious. This can be in the form of self-medicating with sugar, medication, drugs, alcohol or food. Some even lose themselves through shopping, video games or channel surfing on TV or the internet. These escapes keep us from dealing with the problem and often just make matters worse. The act of going unconscious can create the next layer of pain or trauma that gets buried, which we will then have to strip away at some future time.

The best way past a problem is to head straight into it. Remember that the fear of the unknown in any situation is always worse than the unknown itself. Our fears can be paralyzing and can stop us dead in our tracks. When we choose to face our fears, we find they become easier to deal with after each victory, no matter how great or small. So, the next time you are facing a situation that you want to check out from, just remember this article and consciously choose to embrace the unknown. It might be easier to face and overcome these challenges than you ever dreamed possible and you will have that victory to help lead you to your next one. Small victories lead to small changes which lead to bigger victories and bigger changes.
